Google has confirmed that its powerful “Deep Research” feature in Gemini will soon be available through the API.
Currently, Deep Research is limited to the Gemini web interface, where it can browse hundreds of websites, analyze information, and produce detailed, multi-page reports using autonomous reasoning.
Powered by the Gemini 2.5 Pro model, the tool is designed to handle complex research tasks by planning, gathering data, and summarizing findings in an organized format. This update will give developers programmatic access to one of Gemini’s most advanced capabilities, opening possibilities for building automated research and analysis tools.
While Google has not yet shared a release date, the announcement also comes alongside plans to roll out “Gemini 2.5 Deep Think” via API to select users. This model is designed for parallel reasoning and multi-agent problem solving, further expanding Gemini’s API features in the coming weeks.
