Google is continuing its push to bring AI deeper into everyday browsing, announcing that its Gemini integration in Chrome is now rolling out to seven additional countries.

The latest expansion includes Australia, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam, widening access to the company’s AI-powered browser features.

The rollout covers both desktop and iOS users in most of these regions, though Japan will initially receive support only on desktop. This marks another step in Google’s broader effort to embed Gemini directly into Chrome as a built-in assistant rather than a separate tool.

Over the past year, Google has steadily evolved how Gemini works inside Chrome. What started as a floating window has grown into a more capable sidebar assistant that can interact across multiple tabs. Users can ask questions, summarize information, and get contextual help without switching between pages.

One of the more advanced capabilities comes from Gemini’s Personal Intelligence feature, which allows users to connect their Google services like Gmail and Google Photos. This enables more personalized responses and actions, such as drafting and sending emails, checking travel or location details through Maps, or scheduling meetings directly with Calendar, all from within the browser.

The sidebar also introduces creative tools, including the ability to modify and transform images found on the web using Google’s Nano Banana 2 model. This adds a visual editing layer to the browsing experience, making Chrome not just a place to consume content but also to create and refine it.

Google first launched Gemini in Chrome in the United States back in January, then expanded to India, Canada, and New Zealand in March. With this latest rollout, the feature is becoming increasingly global, particularly across the Asia Pacific region.

However, some of the more advanced “agentic” capabilities are still limited. These features, which allow Gemini to take control of the browser to perform tasks on behalf of the user, remain in testing and are currently available only to subscribers of Google’s AI Pro and AI Ultra plans in the United States.
