A rumor claiming that a Fortnite account was linked to Jeffrey Epstein has been publicly rejected by Epic Games.

The confusion started after online users spotted the username “littlestjeff1” mentioned in receipts connected to the Epstein files and began searching for that same alias on other platforms, including Fortnite.

People later found a Fortnite profile using the same name and shared screenshots from player-tracking sites, which made the theory spread even faster. Some posts also pointed to an older email mentioning Fortnite currency purchases, and that combination led to conspiracy-style claims online.

Epic Games responded on X and said the Fortnite account was not tied to Epstein. According to the company, an existing Fortnite player changed their username to “littlestjeff1” only recently after the alias appeared in public discussions. Epic also explained that many tracking sites only show a player’s current display name, not the full history of name changes.

Epic CEO Tim Sweeney also commented, saying it looks like someone was simply having fun renaming an account and that Epic has no record of the email addresses linked to Epstein being associated with Fortnite accounts. For everyday users, this is another reminder that viral claims based on usernames and screenshots can be misleading without verified proof.
