Discord is rolling out new shopping features designed to make gaming more convenient for users while also opening fresh revenue opportunities for developers.

The new features allow users to buy digital game items directly inside Discord without switching to external stores or apps. Players can also create wishlists for the items they want and send in-game gifts to friends through direct messages. For developers, this offers a way to reach a larger audience on Discord itself, helping them sell digital goods more easily.

The first game to support these features is Marvel Rivals, which now has its own store page inside its official Discord server. It’s a strategic choice, as the game quickly became a hit after its release, attracting 10 million players in its first 72 hours, earning over $100 million in its first month, and building a community of more than 4 million members on Discord.

Players can browse and purchase bundles, costumes, emotes, and emojis right from the server. The wishlist option also makes gifting simple, especially with the holiday season approaching. Friends can see what someone wants and buy it for them, and gifts can be sent through DMs even if the sender doesn’t play Marvel Rivals.

For now, the shop supports U.S. currency and works only on the desktop app for users in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, and Oceania. Discord says it may expand to more regions in the future.
