Apple is reportedly developing a new AI-powered wearable device that could be as small as an AirTag.

According to a recent report from The Information, the device is designed to understand a user’s surroundings using built-in cameras and microphones, signaling Apple’s deeper push into everyday artificial intelligence.

The rumored wearable is described as having a thin, flat, circular design made from aluminum and glass. It is said to include a standard camera lens and a wide-angle lens, along with three microphones to capture audio from the environment. Reports also suggest the device may feature a built-in speaker, a physical button on the side, and support for wireless charging. While the project is still in its early development stage, it could reportedly launch as early as 2027.

This device appears to be part of a broader AI strategy at Apple. The company is also working to make Siri more intelligent and personalized in the near future. As part of this effort, Apple is reportedly partnering with Google to improve Siri’s AI capabilities. Separately, Bloomberg reports that Apple plans to transform Siri into a more chatbot-like assistant across iPhone, iPad, and Mac later this year.

The wider wearable industry has recently shifted toward AI-focused features, with companies adding artificial intelligence to devices like smart glasses, watches, and earbuds. At the same time, some standalone AI devices have struggled to gain traction. Humane, for example, shut down its AI Pin after failing to meet expectations.
