Epic Games has announced that Apple has blocked Fortnite from returning to iOS, making the popular battle royale game unavailable on iPhones and iPads worldwide, including the European Union.

Previously accessible through third-party platforms like the Epic Games Store and AltStore PAL in the EU, the game is now offline entirely.

“Apple has blocked our Fortnite submission so we cannot release to the US App Store or to the Epic Games Store for iOS in the European Union,” Epic shared on the official Fortnite X account. “Now, sadly, Fortnite on iOS will be offline worldwide until Apple unblocks it.”

This move follows Epic’s recent efforts to reintroduce Fortnite to the US App Store after a legal ruling prohibited Apple from blocking links to external payment systems. Since Epic’s US developer account was terminated in 2020, the company used its EU-based developer credentials for the submission. However, Apple has reportedly rejected the latest update, stalling Fortnite‘s availability globally.

Epic CEO Tim Sweeney criticized Apple’s app review process on X, accusing the tech giant of allowing unofficial Fortnite clones into the App Store while blocking the original title.

He described Apple’s actions as an abuse of power, saying the process has been “weaponized by senior management.”
