Amazon has officially rolled out Alexa Plus across the United States, making its revamped AI-powered assistant available beyond early access.
The new version is now included for Prime members and also comes with a newly launched free tier for non-Prime users.
Alexa Plus is a rebuilt assistant powered by large language models from Amazon and Anthropic, designed to be more conversational and capable than the original Alexa. In addition to everyday tasks like playing music and controlling smart home devices, it can now handle complex questions, create routines using natural language, manage schedules, plan meals, and even help book services or reservations.
Prime members get unlimited access to Alexa Plus at no extra cost, while non-Prime users can either pay $19.99 per month for full access or use a limited free chat-based version through Alexa.com and the Alexa app.
Amazon says the wider rollout reflects growing user engagement and marks a major shift in Alexa from a simple voice assistant to a full-featured AI assistant.
