Amazon is reportedly in talks to invest $10 billion in OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT.
The deal could see OpenAI using Amazon’s Trainium AI chips and launching an enterprise version of ChatGPT.
This comes after OpenAI signed a $38 billion cloud deal with AWS last month, strengthening Amazon’s role in powering its AI infrastructure. Interestingly, Amazon is also a major investor in Anthropic, one of OpenAI’s rivals, highlighting the tech giant’s growing footprint in the AI race.
If finalized, the investment could boost OpenAI’s valuation well over $500 billion, as the company prepares for a potential future IPO.
