Amazon has officially joined one of Wall Street’s most exclusive clubs after its market value climbed above $3 trillion, making it only the fifth publicly traded company ever to reach the milestone.
The company’s shares surged after it reported stronger-than-expected quarterly earnings, with investors showing growing confidence in Amazon’s artificial intelligence strategy and cloud computing business.
The stock gained around 5% to a record high, pushing Amazon’s valuation past the $3 trillion mark. The company has now delivered one of the strongest performances among major technology firms this year, with its shares rising more than 23% since the beginning of 2026.
Much of the excitement came from Amazon Web Services (AWS), the company’s cloud computing division. AWS recorded its fastest growth in more than four years as demand for AI infrastructure continued to soar. Businesses developing and deploying artificial intelligence are increasingly relying on AWS to power their services, strengthening Amazon’s position in the rapidly expanding AI market.
Amazon has invested billions of dollars in new data centers, AI chips, and cloud infrastructure to keep up with rising demand. Those investments are now beginning to translate into stronger financial results, giving investors greater confidence in the company’s long-term growth.
