YouTube has taken down thousands of channels connected to coordinated propaganda campaigns tied to China and Russia.
According to Google’s Threat Analysis Group (TAG), nearly 11,000 YouTube channels were terminated between April and June 2025. The move was part of an ongoing investigation into “coordinated influence operation campaigns” across the platform.
Out of the total removed, more than 7,700 channels were linked to Chinese influence operations, while over 2,000 were tied to Russian propaganda networks, as reported by CNBC.
