YouTube is giving more creators the ability to test which video titles perform best.

After initially offering the feature to a small group of users in July, the company has now rolled it out to all creators with access to advanced features in YouTube Studio. This makes it easier to choose titles that attract more viewers.

The new update builds on the existing thumbnail testing tool in YouTube Studio. Creators can now upload up to three different titles, or a mix of titles and thumbnails, for YouTube to test. The platform will show these options evenly to viewers for up to two weeks and measure which combination results in the highest watch time.

The combination that performs the best will be labeled as the winner and automatically applied to the video. If YouTube can’t determine a clear winner, the platform will keep the first title and thumbnail the creator uploaded. Creators can also ignore test results and manually choose their preferred title and thumbnail.

This feature is only available on desktop and works for public long-form videos, saved live stream archives, and podcast episodes. It cannot be used on videos marked as Made for Kids or those restricted for mature audiences.
