Due to new regulations, Wix has announced that it will no longer support services for residents in Russia starting from September 12, 2024.

This means that from this date, all Russian-based Wix accounts will be blocked, preventing users from accessing their accounts or any services provided by the platform. This restriction applies universally to both free and premium accounts, meaning no exceptions will be made regardless of the type of account a user holds.

As a result of this change, once an account is blocked, all websites associated with that account will be taken offline. This will affect not only premium site owners but also those using Wix’s free services. If you own a domain through Wix and are impacted by this update, you can transfer your domain to another registrar or hosting platform to maintain your online presence. The process to transfer a domain is straightforward: log into your Wix account, navigate to the Domains section, select the domain you want to transfer, and follow the steps to initiate the transfer. You will receive an authorization code (EPP code) via email, which you can use to complete the transfer with your new domain host.

For users who are not residents of Russia but have been mistakenly affected by the new regulations, it is possible to apply for an exemption by providing proof of non-residency. To do this, you’ll need to contact Wix Customer Care with a detailed explanation, along with official documents showing your name and evidence that you are not a resident of Russia.

The required documentation should cover at least the last three months and could include utility bills or a registration certificate. Once submitted, the Wix team will review your case, though the process may take a few working days.
