Microsoft is rolling out a new Windows 11 version for devices equipped with certain incompatible components, including SenseShield Technology code-obfuscation drivers, integrated cameras, Intel Smart Sound Technology (SST) audio drivers, wallpaper customization tools, and Dirac audio enhancement software.

For those tracking Microsoft’s product lifecycle, more details about upcoming end-of-service dates for various Windows versions can be found through the official Lifecycle Policy search tool or the Windows Lifecycle FAQ. The company has also published a full list of products that will be retired or lose support in the coming months.

According to Statcounter Global Stats, nearly three years after its October 2021 release, Windows 11 has finally overtaken Windows 10 in market share. As of now, over 53% of all Windows devices are running Windows 11, while Windows 10 usage has dropped to around 42%.

The gaming community is adopting the new OS even faster. Steam’s Hardware & Software Survey shows that as of July 2025, 59.9% of gamers are using Windows 11, compared to just 35.1% still on Windows 10.
