Meta is preparing to bring WhatsApp’s new Liquid Glass design to its Mac app after slowly expanding the refreshed look to iOS users.

WhatsApp first began testing the Liquid Glass-style interface with a small group of iOS users in October. The wider rollout started last month, but many users still say they have not received the updated design. The new look adds Liquid Glass elements across the app’s top and bottom navigation bars, along with support for the iOS 26 keyboard.

Now, Meta appears to be working on bringing the same design language to WhatsApp for Mac. According to WABetaInfo, the feature is currently under development, which means it is not available even to beta testers yet. However, the publication was able to activate the new interface early, showing how the Liquid Glass redesign may look on macOS.

The updated Mac version includes a redesigned sidebar with text labels next to each icon, a refreshed chat bar, a new attachment menu, and a dedicated section for locked chats. These changes suggest WhatsApp is trying to create a more consistent experience across iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
