TikTok is giving users more control over what they see on their For You feed.

The platform is now expanding its Manage Topics feature globally, after testing it in the U.S. last year. This tool lets you adjust how often videos from TikTok’s top 10 content categories — like sports, travel, humor, creative arts, and dance — show up in your feed.

The feature doesn’t block topics completely but helps fine-tune how often they appear as your interests change. TikTok says changes may take some time to show, and they only affect the For You feed, not other areas of the app.

To use Manage Topics, go to Settings > Content preferences > Manage topics, or tap Share > Why this video > Adjust your For You > Manage Topics on a video. From there, you can move sliders to increase or decrease how often you see videos from each category, then hit Save.

TikTok is also improving its keyword filters using AI. The new “smart” filters can now block not only the exact keywords you enter, but also related words found in captions, hashtags, or video descriptions. TikTok will show you which similar keywords it’s filtering out, and in the coming months, you’ll be able to select or deselect those words. The platform is also increasing the keyword limit from 100 to 200 per user.

These updates are part of TikTok’s push to make your feed feel more relevant and tailored to your preferences.
