T-Mobile has restored service for all affected customers after a widespread network outage disrupted mobile connectivity across the United States on Monday.

The outage began at around 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time and quickly affected users nationwide. At its peak, outage-tracking website Downdetector recorded more than 62,000 reports from customers experiencing service problems.

The actual number of affected users may have been different, as Downdetector relies on reports submitted by users rather than direct data from the wireless carrier.

Earlier in the day, T-Mobile confirmed it was investigating technical issues affecting some customers. The company said it was actively working to resolve the problem but did not disclose what caused the outage.

Many users took to social media to report that their phones had switched to “SOS” mode, preventing them from making calls or accessing mobile data. Reports of the disruption came from several states, including Arizona, California, Georgia, and Utah.

T-Mobile has now confirmed that service has been fully restored, though the company has not yet released further details about the cause of the outage.
