Nearly four years after first announcing a HiFi tier for lossless audio streaming, Spotify may finally roll out the feature this year, Bloomberg reports.
The company is finalizing details, including streaming rights, which have delayed its release.
The new tier—reportedly called “Music Pro”—could cost an additional $5 or $6 per month, aligning with past estimates from CEO Daniel Ek. Currently, Spotify’s Premium subscription starts at $11.99 per month, following two price hikes in recent years.
While the rollout has taken longer than expected, Spotify—still the world’s largest music streaming platform—seems poised to finally deliver on its HiFi promise in 2025.
