Spotify users encountered widespread outages, with reports flooding social media about the app and website being down.
The outage appeared to begin around 10:40 AM ET, as reported by Downdetector, which recorded a sharp increase in complaints about the music streaming service. Spotify quickly acknowledged the issue and assured users they were working on a fix.
Fortunately, the problem seems to have been resolved swiftly. By the time Spotify’s support account, @SpotifyStatus, issued an update, the number of reported issues had dropped significantly. The tweet read, “Everything’s looking much better now!”
During the outage, both the app and website were impacted—users couldn’t stream music, and the website struggled to load, displaying server errors for many. When trying to access the site during the downtime, users often encountered error messages.
As of the latest update on September 29th, Spotify has confirmed that services are back to normal.
