Spotify is expanding its audiobook experience by partnering with Bookshop.org and launching a new feature called Page Match, designed to connect physical books, e-books, and audiobooks in one seamless reading journey.

The update aims to give readers more flexibility while helping authors and independent bookstores reach wider audiences.

Through the new partnership, Spotify users in the United States and the United Kingdom will soon be able to buy physical books directly from the Spotify app via Bookshop.org. The feature is expected to roll out later this spring and will support independent bookstores with every purchase. Spotify says the move bridges the gap between discovering a book digitally and owning a physical copy, which still accounts for most book sales worldwide.

Spotify has also unveiled Page Match, a new tool that allows users to switch between reading and listening without losing their place. By scanning a page from a physical book or e-book using the Spotify mobile app, listeners can instantly jump to the exact spot in the audiobook version. The feature works in both directions, making it easy to return to print after listening.

Page Match will be available on Android and iOS by the end of February for most English-language audiobook titles. Spotify says the feature builds on its earlier reading tools and reflects its vision of a more flexible and personalized future for books. With these updates, the company is positioning itself as a stronger platform for book discovery across audio and print formats.
