Spotify has announced a new feature designed to help artists maintain control over their profiles and prevent incorrect music releases from appearing under their name.

The feature, called Artist Profile Protection, is currently available as an optional beta within Spotify for Artists.

Spotify says the new feature is aimed at addressing this long-standing issue by giving artists more visibility and control before music goes live on their profiles. With Artist Profile Protection enabled, artists can review releases that include their name and decide whether to approve or reject them.

If a release is approved, it will appear on the artist’s profile as usual and contribute to streaming statistics and recommendations. If it is declined or left unapproved, it will not be listed under the artist’s profile on Spotify, though it may still appear on other platforms.
