A Russian court has imposed a fine of three million roubles (approximately $29,000) on TikTok for allegedly violating the country’s legal restrictions on sharing specific types of information.
The Moscow courts’ press service announced the decision on Friday but did not provide details about the nature of the complaint against the platform.
The ruling highlights ongoing tensions between global tech companies and Russian authorities over content regulation. TikTok, owned by China-based ByteDance, has faced scrutiny in several countries regarding its content moderation policies and data handling practices.
