Russia has lifted its ban on Roblox after the gaming platform reportedly agreed to follow the country’s rules on user safety.
Roblox was banned in Russia last year over concerns linked to “LGBT propaganda” and “extremist” content. The restriction blocked access to one of the world’s most popular online gaming platforms, which is widely used by children and young players.
According to a statement from Russia’s Digital Development Ministry, reported by Interfax, Roblox has now “fully complied with Russian legislation on ensuring user safety.” The ministry said the platform made the required changes to meet Russian legal standards.
The decision means Roblox users in Russia can access the platform again after months of restrictions.
