PayPal is set to introduce a new “Pay With Crypto” feature that will allow US-based merchants to accept payments in over 100 types of cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tether.
The feature is expected to roll out in the coming weeks.
According to PayPal, the new payment method will automatically convert cryptocurrency transactions into either fiat currency or the company’s own PYUSD stablecoin at checkout. This means merchants won’t need to handle crypto directly or worry about price volatility.
The company says this option could help merchants save on international transaction fees and expand their reach to crypto-savvy customers.
