OpenAI has warned that its upcoming artificial intelligence models could present a “high” cybersecurity risk as their capabilities continue to grow rapidly.
In a recent blog post, the maker of ChatGPT stated that these models might be able to develop zero-day remote exploits or assist in complex industrial or enterprise intrusions with real-world consequences.
To address these risks, OpenAI is investing in strengthening its models for defensive cybersecurity purposes, including tools that help defenders audit code and patch vulnerabilities more efficiently. The company is also implementing strict access controls, monitoring, and infrastructure protections to limit potential misuse.
