Netflix has started sending emails to people who use ancient Amazon Fire TV devices. The company says it will stop working on these devices starting June 3rd in the US.
Amazon confirmed that Netflix will no longer support the first-generation Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, and Fire TV Stick with Voice Remote, which were released over ten years ago.
If you own one of these old devices, you might get a discount on a new Fire TV Stick. You can contact Amazon customer service to learn more.
To check if your device is affected, go to Settings > My Fire TV > About on your Fire TV.
Netflix didn’t give a clear reason for this change in the email. But on its help page, Netflix says it stops supporting devices that can’t get important updates or use new features.
Netflix hasn’t given more details yet.
