Netflix has increased its subscription prices once again, pushing its cheapest ad-supported plan to $8.99 per month, up from $7.99.

The standard plan now costs $19.99, rising from $17.99, while the premium plan has gone up from $24.99 to $26.99 per month.

The company last raised prices in January 2025. Since then, it has added several new features and content options, including video podcasts, more live events, new TV-based games, and updates to its TV and mobile apps. Netflix also came close to buying Warner Bros. and HBO Max for $83 billion but chose not to match a higher offer from Paramount.

In 2025, Netflix earned about $1.5 billion from advertising, which is still small compared to its total annual revenue of $45.2 billion. The latest price increase comes at a time when other streaming platforms like Prime Video, Crunchyroll, Paramount Plus, HBO Max, and Apple TV Plus are also raising their prices.

Netflix has not explained the reason for this latest increase. In the past, it has been said that price hikes help it deliver more value to users. It is also not clear when existing subscribers will start paying the new prices.
