MrBeast, the YouTube sensation known for his philanthropic videos and boasting 307 million subscribers, has acknowledged using inappropriate language in his early days online.

Jimmy Donaldson, his real name, faces renewed scrutiny as past racist comments resurface alongside allegations that a longtime collaborator made inappropriate sexual comments to minors.

A spokesperson for MrBeast stated, “When Jimmy was a teenager he acted like many kids and used inappropriate language while trying to be funny. Over the years he has repeatedly apologized and has learned that increasing influence comes with increased responsibility to be more aware and more sensitive to the power of language.”

Donaldson’s controversies include a 2017 video where he responded to a viewer with a racial slur and used homophobic slurs at multiple points. Additionally, Donaldson faced backlash for a 2017 podcast where he made inappropriate remarks about rapper Bhad Bhabie, who was 14 at the time. Collaborator Ava Kris Tyson is also under scrutiny for alleged inappropriate interactions with minors, leading to her departure from the MrBeast team.

These revelations have sparked debate about the ethics of Donaldson’s charitable endeavors and their potential impact on the organizations he supports. For more details, refer to the original report by the Associated Press here.
