Microsoft is now testing a new feature called Copilot for Gaming on mobile phones. It’s available in the beta version of the Xbox app for iOS and Android.

Right now, only users in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Singapore can try it.

Copilot for Gaming is an AI assistant that helps Xbox players with their games. In this early version, you can:

  • View your recent Xbox achievements
  • Get game recommendations based on your play history
  • Ask for tips and guides to help you complete games

Soon, you’ll also be able to download and install games to your Xbox using the assistant.

According to Microsoft, this new feature is meant to be used on your phone while you play, so it doesn’t distract from your game. It understands what you’re playing and can answer questions, suggest helpful links, or give you information based on your activity and achievements.

Copilot for Gaming also has a customizable voice and looks similar to the main Microsoft Copilot used in Windows and Office.

Looking Ahead

Microsoft plans to make this tool even smarter. In the future, Copilot could become a real gaming coach. Earlier this year, Microsoft showed how it could help players in Overwatch 2 by giving feedback or suggesting better character choices. In Minecraft, it can already answer questions about crafting items.

If you’re in one of the supported countries, you can try it now by downloading the Xbox beta app. For players in the UK and most of Europe, the feature isn’t available yet but may come later.
