Microsoft has issued another reminder that Windows 11 version 23H2 for Home and Pro editions will stop receiving security updates after November 11, 2025.

This means the November 2025 patch will be the last security update for these versions. After that date, devices running these editions will no longer get monthly security or preview updates, protecting them from new threats.

The company first warned users about this change in August and again in September. Microsoft recommends upgrading to Windows 11 version 24H2, also known as the Windows 11 2024 Update, which became widely available in October 2024. Devices not managed by IT departments will get the new version automatically but users can still delay or choose when to restart for installation.

While Home and Pro editions of Windows 11 23H2 are ending support soon, Enterprise Education and IoT Enterprise versions will continue to receive updates until November 2026.

Microsoft has also placed a safeguard hold on some devices with SenseShield Technology drivers, which may temporarily block the 24H2 upgrade. Users affected by this issue will have to wait until Microsoft removes the hold.

Earlier in July, Microsoft also reminded customers that Windows 11 22H2 support for Home and Pro editions ends on October 14, 2025.

For those who want to stay up to date, the company suggests installing the Windows 11 2025 Update, also known as version 25H,2 which was released on September 10, 2025. It is now available for eligible Windows 11 24H2 devices that have turned on the “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” option.
