Microsoft has resolved a known issue that broke the “Print to PDF” feature on Windows 11 24H2 devices following the April 2025 preview update.
The bug caused the Microsoft Print to PDF printer to disappear from Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners, and attempts to enable the feature resulted in error code 0x800f0922.
According to Microsoft, the issue stemmed from failures in installing the necessary driver from the system directory. The bug has now been addressed in the KB5060829 preview cumulative update, released on Friday. A broader fix is expected to roll out with the July 2025 Patch Tuesday updates.
Users who prefer not to install the optional June update can try re-enabling the feature manually. This can be done via the Windows Features dialog (optionalfeatures.exe) or through PowerShell with the following commands:
Disable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Printing-PrintToPDFServices-Features
Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Printing-PrintToPDFServices-Features
However, Microsoft warns that using PowerShell might still result in the same 0x800f0922 error in some cases.
The fix comes after a string of printing-related issues this year. In March, Microsoft addressed a bug that caused USB printers to print random characters, and last month, the company resolved a separate problem that led to Windows Update failures due to incorrect metadata timestamps.
