Microsoft has released an emergency update to fix a Bluetooth visibility problem affecting hotpatch-enabled Windows 11 Enterprise devices.

The issue caused Bluetooth devices to disappear from both Windows Settings and Quick Settings, even though they were still connected and working properly on affected systems.

Because of this bug, some users were also unable to add new Bluetooth devices. Available devices would not show up in the connection list, making pairing impossible.

To address the problem, Microsoft released the out-of-band hotpatch update KB5084897 on Monday. It is designed for systems running Windows 11 versions 25H2 and 24H2. The update installs automatically and does not require a restart.

Microsoft said it found a problem on hotpatch-enabled Enterprise editions of Windows where Bluetooth devices may not appear on the Bluetooth and devices page in Windows Settings or in Quick Settings, despite being connected and functioning as expected. The company also said users may be unable to add Bluetooth devices because available devices do not appear in the list.

This emergency cumulative update includes all improvements and security patches from the March 2026 Windows hotpatch updates. However, it will not be installed on Enterprise devices that receive regular Windows updates rather than hot patches.
