Microsoft is testing a new feature in Notepad that uses AI to help you write text.

This feature is called “Write” and is now available for Windows Insiders using Windows 11 on Copilot+ PCs.

With the new Write tool, you can type a prompt and let the AI create text for you. You can also select existing text and ask the AI to improve it or add more to it. To use the feature, just right-click in Notepad or go to the Copilot menu and choose Write.

The AI will then show you the generated text. You can choose to keep it, change it, or delete it if you don’t like it. This makes it easier to write notes, letters, or any other text faster.

Microsoft has also tested other AI tools in Notepad, like Summarize (to shorten text) and Rewrite (to change the tone or style). Now, with Write, Notepad becomes even more useful.

To use this feature, you must sign in with a Microsoft account. Microsoft may add a pricing system in the future, but nothing is confirmed yet.
