LG Electronics has announced the global launch of a new premium gaming monitor lineup called UltraGear evo, which will officially debut at CES 2026.
The new series is designed for gamers who want ultra-sharp visuals, fast performance, and deep immersion without having to upgrade their PC hardware.
UltraGear evo builds on LG’s experience with high-resolution gaming displays, including 5K and 5K2K monitors. The lineup includes OLED, New MiniLED, and ultra-wide monitors, all focused on delivering great detail, smooth motion, and large screen experiences. The first UltraGear evo models are the 39GX950B, 27GM950B, and 52G930B, each offering a different screen size but sharing the same high-resolution foundation.
A major highlight of the new lineup is LG’s on-device AI technology. LG says this powers the world’s first 5K AI Upscaling, allowing lower-resolution content to look close to 5K quality without putting extra load on the graphics card. This means gamers can enjoy clearer visuals even without upgrading their GPU. The AI system also improves images and sound in real time, adjusting scenes and audio for a more immersive experience.

The 39-inch UltraGear evo GX9 (39GX950B) is a 5K2K OLED gaming monitor designed for both visual quality and competitive play. It uses LG’s Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel for brighter images, accurate colors, and deep blacks. The monitor can switch between two modes: 165Hz at full 5K2K resolution or 330Hz at a lower resolution for faster gameplay. Its curved ultra-wide screen offers the height of a 32-inch display with extra horizontal space, making it ideal for gaming and multitasking.
For gamers who prefer a more compact setup, the 27-inch UltraGear evo GM9 (27GM950B) introduces what LG calls the world’s first 5K New MiniLED gaming monitor. It is designed to reduce blooming, a common issue in MiniLED displays, by using over 2,300 local dimming zones. The result is brighter highlights, better contrast, and clearer details in both dark and bright scenes. Like the 39-inch model, it also supports AI upscaling and dual refresh rate modes.
The largest model in the lineup is the 52-inch UltraGear evo G9 (52G930B). LG describes it as the world’s largest 5K2K gaming monitor. It features a massive curved display with a 240Hz refresh rate, offering a panoramic view that is wider than a standard 4K monitor. The large screen and strong curvature are designed to pull players deeper into games, especially for racing and simulation titles.
LG says the UltraGear evo lineup represents a shift toward high-resolution gaming without compromises. According to the company, gamers can now choose between OLED blacks, MiniLED brightness, or ultra-large screens while still getting smooth performance and sharp visuals.
