Apple has introduced a new Notification Forwarding feature in iOS 16.3, enabling iPhone notifications to be forwarded to third-party devices, such as smartwatches.
The new option appears in the Settings app under Notifications → Notification Forwarding. According to Apple, notifications can be forwarded to only one device at a time. If the feature is enabled for a third-party wearable, the Apple Watch will no longer receive messages from the iPhone.
Users can customize the feature by selecting specific apps whose notifications should be forwarded, rather than sharing notifications from all apps. Forwarded alerts include the app name and full notification content, ensuring third-party devices receive complete information.
