Apple’s iOS 18 includes an exciting new feature that allows users to restore an iPhone 16 wirelessly using another iPhone or iPad, as reported by 9to5Mac.
This feature brings a new level of convenience to recovering a device without needing to connect it to a computer.
According to 9to5Mac, the recovery process is simple. When the iPhone 16 enters Recovery Mode, users can place it near another iPhone or iPad running iOS 18. The other device will then download the necessary firmware and wirelessly transfer it to the iPhone in Recovery Mode, restoring the bricked device.
While the ability to perform the restoration wirelessly is available on any device running iOS 18, only the iPhone 16 series can currently be restored this way. This feature follows similar functionality already available for wirelessly restoring Apple Watches and Apple TVs, marking a significant step forward for iPhone recovery.
