Hyundai Motor, BYD Korea, Mercedes-Benz Korea and three other automakers are voluntarily recalling more than 146,000 vehicles in South Korea after various defects were discovered in different models.

According to South Korea’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, a total of 146,505 vehicles across 38 models will be recalled. The affected companies include Hyundai Motor, BYD Korea, Mercedes-Benz Korea, Volvo Car Korea, Jaguar Land Rover Korea and Stellantis Korea.

Hyundai Motor is recalling 54,792 vehicles from two models, including the Tucson. The company found a software problem in the instrument cluster control system that could cause the dashboard display to flicker or suddenly turn off.

BYD Korea will recall 18,091 vehicles across six models, including the SEALION 7. The issue involves the seat belt reminder warning, which may be hidden by other notifications on the vehicle’s display.

Mercedes-Benz Korea is recalling 2,113 units of the C 300 4MATIC because of a durability problem in the steering wheel’s electronic control circuit.

Volvo Car Korea will inspect and perform preventive maintenance on 55,405 vehicles across seven models, including the XC60. The recall is linked to a durability issue affecting a component in the 48-volt starter-generator system.

Jaguar Land Rover Korea is recalling 14,373 vehicles across 21 models, including the Defender 110 D240. The company identified a durability issue with the steering wheel airbag connector that needs to be addressed.

Stellantis Korea is recalling 1,731 units of the 300C after discovering a faulty component in the high-pressure fuel pump. The defect could cause the engine to stall while the vehicle is being driven.
