Google is enhancing its Gemini tools in Gmail to make refining your emails easier than ever. Among the AI-powered options like “Formalize” and “Elaborate,” there’s a new “Polish” feature designed to refine your drafts, according to a recent Google blog post.

This tool is part of the “Help me write” suite, which now includes shortcuts directly within the email body on Android and iOS devices, making it clear that these AI tools are available for use.

These features are accessible to users subscribed to Google One AI Premium or those who have added Google’s Gemini add-on for Workspace. When you start a new draft, you’ll see a “Help me write” shortcut, which can generate text for you. If your draft contains 12 or more words, a new “Refine my draft” option will appear, giving you the ability to polish your text. This shortcut can be accessed by swiping across the text, offering options to “Polish,” “Formalize,” “Elaborate,” “Shorten,” or even create an entirely new draft.

Google’s updates also include helpful shortcuts on mobile devices. If your email draft is empty, the “Help me write” shortcut will automatically appear in the email body. Once you start typing and reach 12 words, the “Refine my draft” shortcut becomes available, offering a variety of refining options to suit your needs.

These new tools are automatically enabled for all users and are available now on the web, Android, and iOS platforms.
