Google is expanding the capabilities of its Gemini AI chatbot by introducing the Gmail Q&A feature to mobile devices. Initially launched for the web, this feature is now available to Android users, with iOS support expected soon.
Gmail Q&A allows users to interact with their inbox more efficiently by asking Gemini to perform tasks such as finding specific details in emails, showing unread messages, or summarizing emails on a particular topic. This feature was first previewed during Google’s I/O conference earlier this year.
However, the new functionality is not accessible to all users. Gmail Q&A is currently limited to Google One AI Premium subscribers or those on specific Google Workspace plans, including Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, or Education Premium add-ons.
As with other generative AI tools, users are advised to double-check the information provided by Gemini, as there is a possibility of inaccuracies. The rollout began on Thursday, and Google anticipates it may take up to 15 days for the feature to be available on all devices.
