Google has announced that it will replace Google Assistant with Gemini on Android devices later this year.

The transition will happen gradually, with more users being upgraded to Gemini in the coming months. Once the switch is complete, Assistant will no longer be available on most mobile devices or app stores.

The company also confirmed that tablets, cars, and connected devices like headphones and smartwatches will be upgraded to Gemini. Additionally, home devices such as smart speakers, displays, and TVs will get a new Gemini-powered experience.

To ensure a smooth transition, Google has added popular Assistant features to Gemini, including music playback, timers, and lock screen actions. The company plans to share more details in the coming months.
