Google has added a new study feature inside its Gemini AI that aims to make learning easier and more effective.
Called Guided Learning, this tool helps students understand topics step by step instead of just giving them quick answers. It uses images, short videos, and small quizzes to keep users interested and help them remember what they learn.
This new feature comes shortly after OpenAI introduced a similar tool called Study Mode in ChatGPT. Both companies seem to be focusing on helping students learn in a better way using AI. However, Google’s tool is designed using a special model called LearnLM, which was built specifically for education. This helps Gemini give clearer explanations, show visual aids, and adjust to each person’s learning speed.
To make it even more appealing, Google is offering free access to its Gemini Advanced plan for one year to eligible students in several countries if they sign up by October. The company also plans to invest one billion dollars over the next three years in education, including AI training programs and support for schools and teachers.
By adding this feature, Google hopes to show that AI can be more than just a shortcut for answers. Instead, it can be a real learning partner that helps students grow and understand things deeply. Whether students will stick with these guided tools or go back to quick answers is still to be seen, but the way we learn with AI is clearly changing.
