Google has officially launched a dedicated iPadOS version of the Gemini app, enhancing the AI assistant experience for iPad users.
Previously, iPad owners were limited to running the iOS version in compatibility mode, but this new release brings full iPad functionality and multitasking support.
With the native app, users can now take advantage of split view, allowing Gemini to run side by side with other apps. Google spokesperson Elijah Lawal highlighted the app’s new features, including:
- Gemini Live: Natural conversations in over 45 languages
- Deep Research: Generate reports and gather data swiftly
- Audio Overview: Understand and process audio files with ease
- Canvas: Collaborate on documents and code in real time
- Image & Video Generation: Create high-quality visuals directly on the iPad
In addition to the powerful tools, Gemini now supports homescreen widgets and can connect to your Google Photos library for more personalized assistance. The updated Audio Overview feature, which began in English for Gemini and Gemini Advanced users, is now available in over 45 languages globally.
The iPad-native app is available starting today in all countries where Gemini is supported.
Users can download it directly from the App Store.
