Google’s parent company, Alphabet, announced on Thursday that it is expanding its AI-generated search summaries to six additional countries, just two months after addressing issues from a problematic launch.
These AI Overviews, which appear at the top of search results, are now available in Brazil, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, and the UK, in local languages like Portuguese and Hindi.
The feature, first launched in the U.S. in May, faced criticism for providing factually inaccurate answers, including a widely mocked pizza recipe listing glue as an ingredient.
In response, Google updated the feature, limiting the types of queries that would generate AI responses and reducing reliance on user-generated content from platforms like Reddit.
