Google has quietly pulled the plug on its Keep app for Apple Watch, ending support with the latest App Store update (version 2.2025.26200) released Monday.

While the app remains available for iPhone and iPad, Apple Watch users can no longer access the once-handy note-taking tool directly from their wrists.

This move comes just a day after Google launched a native Google Calendar app for watchOS, sparking brief optimism about renewed interest in Apple Watch support. However, with Keep now discontinued, Google’s presence on watchOS is limited to just three apps: Calendar, Maps, and YouTube Music — the latter two also long overdue for updates.

Originally introduced to watchOS in 2019, Google Keep had seen minimal development in recent years but remained functional for jotting quick notes and lists. The app’s quiet removal aligns with user reports on Reddit last month claiming that Google had warned of the app’s deprecation.

Google Keep continues to be available for smartwatches running Wear OS, Google’s own smartwatch platform. But for Apple Watch users, there’s currently no solid third-party replacement, and they’ll likely have to wait for Apple’s native Notes app, expected with the launch of watchOS 26 this fall.
