Google has announced several new features for the Android ecosystem alongside its March Pixel Drop software update for Pixel phones.

The update introduces improvements across tracking, messaging, calling, and Pixel devices, including a new tool that helps travelers locate lost luggage.

One of the biggest additions is a new feature for Android’s Find Hub app. Users who attach a compatible tracker tag to their luggage can now share the item’s location directly with participating airlines. If luggage goes missing, users can select the item in the Find Hub app and tap “share item location” to create a secure tracking link.

This link can then be copied and submitted through an airline’s website or mobile app to help the airline locate the luggage. Google says the link automatically expires after seven days, and sharing will be disabled once the user’s phone detects the luggage has been returned.

More than ten international airlines currently support the feature as part of their baggage recovery process. These include Ajet, Air India, China Airlines, Saudia Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Scandinavian Airlines, and the Lufthansa Group, which includes Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Swiss International Airlines. Google says it plans to add more airline partners in the future.
