Google is rolling out new updates to the Gmail app for Android and iOS users.

The changes include design improvements, better support for tablets and foldable phones, and new AI tools for email.

On Android tablets and foldable devices, users can now adjust the layout more easily. A new divider lets you resize the inbox and message panels in landscape mode. You can even slide the divider to one side for a full-screen view.

iPhone users are also getting a visual refresh. Gmail on iOS now matches the look of the Android and web versions, with pill-shaped buttons at the bottom and a rounded search bar at the top. Google Calendar on iOS now lets users create and edit birthday events, just like on Android.

Google is also adding its Gemini AI image generator to the Gmail app sidebar for Workspace users. You can now create images right inside the app and insert them directly into your emails.

These updates are now rolling out to both personal Gmail accounts and Google Workspace users.
