Fortnite players on PC will soon get a new and easier way to launch the game. Starting November 18, Fortnite will be available directly through the Xbox app on PC.
Until now, the only way to open the game on a computer was through the Epic Games Launcher, but this new option gives players more flexibility if they prefer using the Xbox app.
Fortnite is also joining the Xbox Play Anywhere program. This means your progress, items, and purchases will automatically carry over across Xbox consoles, PC, and supported handheld gaming devices. Microsoft says this update will make it easier for players to enjoy Fortnite on devices like the Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X, especially if you want to play on the go.
There’s another bonus coming on the same day. Starting November 18, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members will receive the Fortnite Crew subscription as an added perk. The Crew subscription gives players a new outfit every month, 1,000 V-Bucks, and access to all Fortnite battle passes. This makes it easier to collect rewards, unlock items, and enjoy everything the game has to offer across its many game modes.
