Coca-Cola has temporarily suspended production at its Fairlife dairy business in the United States after the company was hit by a ransomware attack that disrupted its production systems.

In a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Coca-Cola confirmed that the cyberattack affected Fairlife’s manufacturing operations, forcing the company to shut down production across its U.S. facilities until further notice. The company did not disclose when operations are expected to resume or provide additional details about the ransomware incident.

The disruption is limited to the United States. Coca-Cola said Fairlife’s operations in Canada continue to operate normally and have not been affected by the attack.

Fairlife is one of Coca-Cola’s largest dairy brands and generated an estimated $4 billion in sales by 2024. The company is well known for its ultra-filtered milk, protein shakes, and other dairy products, making the production shutdown a significant operational setback.

Ransomware attacks have increasingly targeted food and beverage manufacturers because production disruptions can quickly impact supply chains. Similar attacks in recent years have caused extended outages and interrupted product availability at other major companies in the industry.

Coca-Cola has not announced a timeline for restoring Fairlife’s production systems or fully resuming operations.
