ChatGPT is introducing a new annual recap feature that provides users with a personalized summary of their interactions with the chatbot over the past year.
Called “Your Year with ChatGPT,” the feature is being introduced to eligible users in select countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.
The new experience is available to users on the Free, Plus, and Pro plans, as long as they have enabled the settings that allow ChatGPT to reference saved memories and chat history. Users must also meet a minimum level of activity to qualify, according to OpenAI. Accounts tied to Team, Enterprise, or Education plans are not included in the rollout.
OpenAI says the feature is designed to be simple, privacy-focused, and fully controlled by the user. It does not automatically open and will not be forced on anyone. Instead, users can access it from the ChatGPT home screen or trigger it manually by asking ChatGPT for their year in review.
Much like Spotify Wrapped, the feature uses colorful visuals and personalized insights to reflect how people interacted with ChatGPT throughout the year. Users may receive playful titles or awards based on their usage patterns, such as using the chatbot for creative problem-solving, learning, or idea development.
The recap also includes a custom poem and an AI-generated image inspired by the user’s most common topics and interests. The goal is to make the experience engaging while still keeping it light and optional.
