Binance customers have withdrawn a net $4.72 billion since withdrawals resumed on Sunday, November 1, after hackers stole about $6.3 billion in cryptocurrency from the exchange.
Reuters reported the figure from a Binance spokesperson, who said the outflow represented about 2.8% of assets on the platform. AFP separately reported withdrawals of around $4.7 billion.
The cumulative total is higher than the $3.64 billion in net outflows Binance reported during the first nine and a half hours after reopening, when it processed $4.65 billion in withdrawals and $1.01 billion in deposits.
Binance said withdrawal volumes had declined and were stabilising, while $2.7 billion had flowed back into the exchange. It said it had raised $6 billion from its corporate treasury, an insurance fund and security reserves to cover the theft.
