Apple has released iOS 18.3.1, iPadOS 18.3.1, and iPadOS 17.7.5 to fix a security flaw that could let attackers access data on a locked device.
The update patches an exploit in USB Restricted Mode, a feature designed to block unauthorized access to encrypted data.
Security researchers reported that the flaw may have been used in highly sophisticated attacks against specific individuals. Apple has previously updated USB Restricted Mode and recently added an “inactivity reboot” in iOS 18 to improve security.
Apple also released updates for Mac, Apple Watch, and Vision Pro but has not yet shared security details for those platforms.
